The device has been called the most repairable iPhone since the iPhone 7.
Last week saw the official release of the new iPhone 14 line. Opinions of the device, from its screen to its processing capabilities, have been positive, but there’s also been another sector of praise, one that is both unexpected and very much welcome: ease of repair.

iPhone enthusiasts have noted that the iPhone 14 is the most easy iPhone to perform maintenance on since 2016’s iPhone 7. Users believe this is part of Apple’s new initiative to support the right-to-repair scene, making it easy for smartphone owners to source their own parts for personal repairs rather than having to bring them into an Apple store. Of course, this ease of repair has also proven popular with Apple store employees working to remedy problems like cracked screens or damaged batteries. The only downside is that the easily-repaired design is only in use on the regular iPhone 14 model. The Pro model does not use the same internal structure.
“Apple has completely redesigned the internals of the iPhone 14 to make it easier to repair,” wrote iFixit founder Kyle Wiens. “It is not at all visible from the outside, but this is a big deal.”

“This design improvement is a big win. These changes to the iPhone will help it last longer and reduce its overall impact on the planet,” Wiens wrote.
