Step Aside Siri

Rumors surfaced Tuesday that Facebook is working on a virtual assistant for its messenger app that would rival Apple’s Siri. The new details on the project are slim and what’s surfacing out there all come from multiple sources.

However, the rumor does line up with there other efforts to monetize the app. Facebook split its messaging service from its main social networking app last year. Although it was unpopular at the time App Annie reports that it’s the number one social networking app in the US.

So, the new personal assistant is currently being referred to as Money Penny. She is supposed to be all about helping people who order products and book services so it’s easy to see how Facebook can cut in on some sales!
