It is only October, but 2014 is already shaping up to be a good recruitment year for NCAA Basketball, with a promising and prominent freshman class. Must-watch players Like Emmanuel Mudiay, Karl Towns Jr., and Justin Jackson have already committed to schools (Saint Methodist, Kentucky, and North Carolina, respectively). But there are still 12 five-star player recruits from the ESPN top 100 list that are still uncommitted to a University. Most notably, the top 4 highest ranked players: Jahlil Okafor, Myles Turner, Cliff Alexander, and Tyus Jones are still uncommitted. Let’s take a closer look at these four potentially impactful players, and what schools they could end up playing for throughout their college careers.

Jahlil Okafor

Okafor is a Center from Whitney Young High School in Chicago, IL. Despite just now going into his senior year of High School, he has been on the top recruitment list for years.  For his size of 6 10’ and 280 lbs., Okafor is known for being incredibly agile, a great rebounder, with equally great shooting abilities. Understandably, he has several big name offers from schools such as: Arkansas, DePaul, Illinois, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Ohio State.  But ESPN has said that BaylorDukeKansas and Kentucky are the schools with the best chances of snagging Okafor. Personally, I’m most excited to see where he ends up, and how impactful his contributions will be to the team he chooses.

Myles Turner

Turner, another Center, but from Trinity High School in Houston Texas, is the second highest ranked player at ESPN, and still undecided on a school. Turner is a smart, explosive player who is great in the low post and is superb at shot blocking and rebounding. He is a player that has consistently gotten better and better at his craft, considering that last June he wasn’t even ranked in the top 100.

Predictions are looking at Kansas as the school Turner will eventually sign to. It is the only school he has visited at the point, and has been hot on his list for a while. If not Kansas, predictions also see him going to Ohio State or Texas, two schools that he currently has visits planned for. Duke Kentucky and Louisville are also some of the schools who have given Turner offers.

Cliff Alexander

Ranked Number 3 is Cliff Alexander, a Power Forward from Curie High School in Chicago, IL. Alexander is described as being a powerful player, but still maintains a high degree of “finesse” in his player ability.

Alexander has received offers form DePaul, Illinois, Kansas, Memphis, and Michigan State. He’s already visited DePaul and Kansas, and plans to visit the other three schools shortly. It is believed that Alexander is considering all five schools. Additionally, it has been announced that he will make his decision the morning of November 20.

Tyus Jones

Tyus Jones is the 4th highest ranked player, and the most sought after point guard in the country. Jones comes from Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley Minnesota. Jones is said to have an amazing basketball IQ and is described as very mature on the court, and a great team player. His other skill sets are ball handling and shooting, especially 3 pointers.

Jones and number one ranked Okafor have been close friends since they were 8, and are working to be a package deal in terms of the College they attend. This has a very high possibility of happening, but nothing has been confirmed yet. But whichever school they choose to go to will definitely have a remarkable program. Jones has individually gotten offers from Baylor, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, Duke, Minnesota, and Ohio State. And Like Okafor, Duke Kentucky, Kansas, and Baylor are on the top of his list.

It will be interesting to see where these talented young men will end up, and I look forward to following their stories as they choose schools and mature as players. We’ll keep you posted.
