This Is An Odd Case Of A Break-In
It’s not every day that a burglar breaks into your home–and does your chores for you. But that’s exactly what happened in Vinton County, Ohio, this week. Police say a woman named Cheyenne Ewing entered a stranger’s home, pet the family dog, and began doing the family’s dishes.
“Deputies with the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office got a call about the burglary May 6 and stopped to speak with the homeowner. That individual said a woman came into the residence through the back door, sat down on the couch and started to pet the family’s dog. She then washed some dishes and left,” local news station WTHR reported.
“The victim told deputies they didn’t know the woman, who was acting strangely. During that interview, deputies received information that the woman was knocking on doors of home elsewhere in town. A deputy approached the woman, identified as Cheyenne Ewing, who gave police a fake name at first.”
“She didn’t get mad or anything when they cuffed her up,” the homeowner said. “I think that might have been the best thing to happen to her.”
To no one’s great surprise, Ewing appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the burglary. She is not charged with stealing anything from the home. Maybe the victimized family should count their blessings–most burglars aren’t so helpful.
