ABC airs 9/11 special of museum opening
September 11 marks the day of the biggest terrorist attack against the U.S. when airplane hijackers crashed planes into the Twin Towers in New York. The U.S. commemorates the anniversary of 9/11 and this year ABC is featuring an hour-long special “9/11 Remembered: The Day We Came Together.”
The 9/11 memorial special will feature the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City at the Twin Tower site on May 15, 2014 with a commemoration speech by then-President Barack Obama. The event will host speeches from dignitaries including Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The special will also include speeches from survivors, family members, and first responders impacted by 9/11. The 9/11 special will also host a variety of performances including LaChanze singing “Amazing Grace,” a performance of “Somewhere” by a 300-voice children’s choir, and the New York Philharmonic performing “Fanfare for the Common Man.”

This memorial special will offer an inside look into the 9/11 memorial museum along with stories of victims impacted by the attack that was produced by Don Mischer Productions. “9/11 Remembered: The Day We Came Together” was directed by David J. Goldberg and Don Mischer was an executive producer.
The special will air tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC and will be available on-demand starting Sept. 12. Today is a day of remembrance for the nation and this special event is sure to commemorate everyone impacted by 9/11.
