Tech Turned Hero
Many view drones as pesky devices used to invade others’ privacy, but what they don’t know is that drones are saving lives. After a recent flood in China, drones were sent to drop off life preservers to stranded victims. The drones reached these victims long before rescue boats arrived. In another case where an elderly woman with dementia wandered out of her home, search and rescue teams were able to find her using a drone. They have incredible zoom capability, are weather resistant and are able to carry anything from medical equipment to ammunition. In the future, drones may play a huge factor in natural disaster cleanup and even war.
