The Road To Success
Meet Alexander Rossi, an American professional racing driver. He currently races in the IndyCar Series for Bryan Herta Autosport with Andretti Autosport; additionally, he serves as reserve driver for Manor Racing in Formula One.
So when he won the Indy500 this past year it was kind of a big deal….and to top it off it was the events historic 100th running, how cool is that! Rossi was a 66-to-1 long shot to say the least and not the driver anyone would have picked to win. But the 24-year-old Californian used fuel strategy to outsmart a number of drivers who had the most dominant cars in the race.
“I have no idea how we pulled that off….I really was focused on taking it one lap at a time,” Rossi said. “The emotional roller coaster of this race is ridiculous. There were moments I was really stoked, really heartbroken, really stoked. I was like, ‘Wow, I’ll need to see a psychiatrist after this.'” For more details on his spectacular race…which he is still waiting to get a call from President Obama by the way….be sure to check out the video above.
