It seems nowadays everything we do revolves around social media. In this case one of our favorite apps Instagram has some hidden secrets.

Instagram didn’t start out as Instagram. Kevin Systrom, the creativity researcher of Instagram had a different idea in mind when creating this top 10 app.

Instagram originally started out as Bourbon. Kevin Systrom was a big fan of Kentucky whiskeys so he named the company after the booze. It was originally an iPhone app that was location-based.

It was one driven by the success of networking app Foursquare which was soon after changed to the app everyone seems to know and love as Instagram.

In the beginning the app was complicated but it took him just a few months to build. The app allowed people to check in, earn points for hanging out with friends, and post pictures of the meet ups. Which app do you like better?
