A Step In The Right Direction
Countries around the world are always making a pros and cons list as to what needs to be stabilized and what needs to be gained in their cities. Recently, China has found a solution to one of their biggest cons, which is traffic, and pollution.
So, what’s the answer you ask? Well, a supercity. The Chinese government plans to create a megalopolis with the country’s capital at the center. The supercity, Jing-Jin-Ji, will combine Beijing, Tianjin, and parts of the Hebei Province.
Officials say the new region will spur development while alleviating traffic and pollution. The plan also will be calling for the expansion of a high-speed rail through the 82,000 square mile megalopolis. However, once completed, Jing-Jin-Ji will be about the size of Kansas and contain more than 100 million people. How cool is that!
