A movie or TV trailer is obviously designed to hype you up for whatever it’s advertising. But as beloved as some movies are, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that their companion trailers still retain that same love, even years later. There’s an art to trailers, after all; you need to convey most if not all of the movie’s central theme and conflict, along with some of its highlights, in five minutes or less.

Sometimes, it’s a really well coordinated line. I’ve seen lines in trailers that are coordinated so well, that when you hear the real thing in the actual movie it feels unnatural. Other times, there’s just an element of the trailer that really hits you just right. As long as there are movies, there will always be trailers, and with trailers comes a joyful anticipation for the trailers themselves and the movies they promote.
