A Sports Filled Weekend
We are well into the throes of March Madness and will be until early April. Sit back and enjoy the ride, the thrilling finishes, the drama, the endless fouling and 10 seconds of play that takes 10 minutes.
If there is a must-watch show this weekend, it is Sunday’s NCAA Tournament selection program on CBS at 5:30 p.m. ET. You will want that first, early look at the brackets so that you can start filling out your own for the office pool. So that’s the primo choice of our Weekend TV Six-Pack.
After we find out which teams got hosed by the selection committee – and there are always a couple on the bubble whose bubble bursts – there’s the NIT Selection show on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m. If you are filling out a bracket for this, seek help now.
There are five conference championship games on Sunday and the ACC’s on Saturday night at 9 p.m. on ESPN. Teams are unknown at this time we will leave it to you to pick a couple but we lean toward the ACC game because (hah!) Duke won’t be in it.
On a completely different note, there are two auto races on Sunday. Scott Dixon tries to win the IndyCar season opener in St. Petersburg, Fla, and he’ll try hard. He has finished second three times. That’s at 12:30 p.m. on ABC. And in Phoenix, NASCAR’s Good Sam 500 airs on Fox at 3:30 p.m.
Hoops and fast cars. Sounds like a fun weekend. Watch responsibly.
