A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead
If nostalgia is your thing, you won’t want to miss the baseball Hall of Fame inductions on Sunday.
Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza will become the 311th and 312th members inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The ceremony will be shown on MLB Network and also via webcast atwww.baseballhall.org at 1:30 p.m. ET. More than 50 Hall of Famers are expected to return for Hall of Fame Weekend, including Sandy Koufax, Whitey Ford, Orlando Cepeda, Rod Carew, Mike Schmidt, Jim Rice, Luis Aparicio and Ozzie Smith.
What else is there in your Weekend TV Six-Pack? Plenty.
We’re going to give you a double shot of the Tour de France as it wraps with its final stages on Saturday and Sunday. It’s at 7 a.m. on Saturday on NBC Sports Network and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday (same channel) and you’ll no doubt see Great Britain’s Chris Froome crowned again in Paris.
We’re going to give you a double shot of the Brickyard 400 as well, as Jeff Gordon comes out retirement to drive for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. Qualifying at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on NBC Sports and the race is Sunday at 3 p.m. (same channel).
If you’re in the mood for baseball on Saturday night to warm up for the Hall of Fame, try the New York Mets-Miami Marlins game at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Network. The National League East is competitive and both are chasing the Washington Nationals.
