Sports Review For The Weekend
There’s no way we keep this to six. How could we? Baseball’s division series, college football, the NFL, NASCAR playoffs – it’s almost too much. Almost.
You are given full permission by this blog to plant your heiner in the recliner on Friday. If you are lucky, we will find you in the same spot Sunday night – still breathing.
There’s baseball starting at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, and how often can you see a quadruple-header? The Cleveland Indians-Houston Astros series leads off on TBS, followed by Game 2 of the Colorado Rockies-Milwaukee Brewers at 4:15 on FS1, the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox in Game 1 at 7:30 on TBS and Game 2 of the Atlanta Braves-Los Angeles Dodgers at 9:30 on FS1. And you’ll get more of the Indians-Astros (4:30, TBS) and Yankees-Red Sox (8:15, TBS) on Saturday.
College football? Sure, there’s plenty. The old Red River Rivalry is always fun, with No. 19 Texas facing No. 6 Oklahoma (12 p.m., Fox). A big SEC matchup of ranked teams features No. 5 LSU at No. 22 Florida (3:30 p.m., CBS). And two more ranked teams meet at 8:15 p.m. on ABC as No. 6 Notre Dame takes on No. 24 Virginia Tech.
The best of the NFL is the 4:25 p.m. clash of the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles, in a rematch of last season’s NFC championship game won 38-7 by the Eagles.
NASCAR’s playoffs hit Dover International Speedway in Delaware on Sunday in the Gander Outdoors 400 at 2 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
You couldn’t ask for more. You wouldn’t. Would you? You’ll need a six-pack… of eye drops.
