The Men’s USA soccer team is going to have a difficult division for the World Cup next year. The USA will be in Group G, along with Ghana, Portugal, and Germany. This is probably the toughest group the US could have gotten. However, the team is confident, and knows they will be able to face Ghana, Portugal, and Germany when the time comes.
The USA has history with all three of these teams. Ghana actually eliminated the US in previous World Cups in 2006 and 2010. This time around, the USA has the potential to beat Ghana. But, then they will have to face a 5th ranked Portugal and 2nd ranked Germany. Both teams are favorites to reach the second round over the US.
The team currently has the average FIFA world ranking and is overall ranked 14th in the World.
The USA has their work cut out for them, but their task isn’t impossible. After training at home for a few weeks, the team will head to Brazil for the World Cup this June.
