Getting Closer To The Superbowl
NFL playoff doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday ought to sate most sports fans. It’s the second round and the teams that earned byes for the first weekend get into action.
There are, however, no byes for your heiner and your recliner. So sit back and take it all in.
Saturday brings us the Indianapolis Colts at the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at 4:35 p.m. ET on NBC. The Colts are 4-0 all-time in the playoffs against the Chiefs, who were 7-1 this season at home.
The evening broadcast, at 8:15 p.m. on Fox, matches the Dallas Cowboys against the Rams in Los Angeles. The Rams stalled a bit offensively down the stretch; the Cowboys come off a first-round victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Cowboys and Rams last met in a postseason game in 1986.
Sunday matches the Los Angeles Chargers, making their second consecutive East Coast appearance, against the New England Patriots. CBS shows this at 1:05 p.m. Will Patriots quarterback Tom Brady display his past playoff form? He’s the all-time postseason leader in game played (37), wins (27), completions (920), pass yards (10,226) and touchdown passes (71).
In the late game, the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New Orleans Saints. Fox has this one at 4:40 p.m. Eagles coach Doug Pederson is 4-0 in the playoffs, including last year’s Super Bowl victory.
If you’d care for a look at freshman basketball star Zion Williamson, catch No. 1 Duke’s game at No. 13 Florida State on Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN.
Sunday brings the final round of the Sony Open from Hawaii as the PGA Tour continues to enjoy island life. The final round can be seen on Golf Channel at 6 p.m.
