Italy may have been eliminated in yesterday’s World Cup match against Uruguay but that wasn’t all that shocked the fans!
During the game Luis Suarez bit one of Italy’s players but this isn’t the first time he was caught for biting an opponent. Suarez, in 2013 earned a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, in 2010 he had a 7-match ban for biting a player in the Eredivisie, and now for his third time he has bit Italian player Giorgio Chiellini.
The biting was done intentionally as shown by videos and Italy only needed a draw to advance, but Claudio Marchisio’s mindless red card for stomping on Egidio Rios forced Italy to play a man down for the final half-hour game. With Italian fans furious that they will not be seeing their team advance they are sure to say that Luis Suarez has quite an appetite for the game!
