The Future Of Mass Transit?
Elon Musk wants us to all forget the subway system, and jump aboard his latest futuristic idea. Launching a Tesla into space just isn’t enough for this new-age innovator, and he has his sights set on an underground urban loop system. His new plan would be a rather advanced way to transport pedestrians.
The commuters would be loaded into a car on street-level, and slowly lowered into underground tunnels where the entire loop system is located. So how is this system different from subways or trains (you may be wondering)? The loop systems will literally have thousands of small stations that are the size of a single parking space. Seems efficient enough, Mr. Musk. The transport car would reach up to speeds of 125 mph. The main concerns of this new system have mainly to do with travel time, safety and price. With that being said, many believe this will be the future of mass transit.
