The 32-year-old Grammy-winning singer, Christian Aguilera, revealed through Twitter Wednesday she recorded a song for the new Hunger Games movie set to come out late this year, on November 22.
We Remain
“Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames,” she tweeted to her 9.4 million followers on the said social media site. “‘We Remain’ is special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike.”
Years ago, the diva showed she was a fighter when she plowed through controversies with her head held high, so it makes sense that she readily accepted the offer to record a track for the movie with a female fighter as the lead character.
Christina’s fans also reacted positively to her message, even retweeting it countless times.
“This is so unexpected. I need to pee…OMG!” one fan tweeted.
Another follower exclaimed, “@xtina I can’t wait to hear it! I know it’ll be extraordinary!”
Nevertheless, The Voice judge had not yet revealed when she will release the song.
Aside from the singer-actress, it was disclosed last month that the popular British alternative rock band Coldplay also recorded a song for the said movie. Their piano ballad is entitled Atlas. The Nationals, an American indie rock band, joins the roost with their song Lean.
As a matter of fact, Coldplay released the official lyric video of the song recently. Reportedly, the band’s frontman, Chris Martin, is a big fan of the Hunger Games trilogy, which may be the reason why the group has easily said ‘yes’ to being in the movie’s soundtrack.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The highly anticipated sequel of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire has Katniss Everdeen, played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, struggling to adjust to her sudden celebrity status after she won the 74th hunger games competition with Peeta, played by actor Josh Hutcherson.
However, the two will soon find out they will once again go into battle and fight for their lives, this time against previous tributes for the 75th year of the Hunger Games.
Both Josh and Law are not the only one to reprise their roles in the Hunger Games sequel. Australian hunk Liam Hemsworth, fresh from his break-up with Miley Cyrus, also repeats his role as Gale. Based on pre-screenings and trailers from the upcoming movie, he is also getting more exposure compared to the first one.
Movie director Francis Lawrence had these revealing words for the movie when he was recently interviewed:
“This one’s very, very different. The arena’s much more active. And the movie’s about different things, thematically: it’s about the beginning of rebellion, and Kat becoming a symbol, and there’s much more love story.”
He also added that the sequel will add sense to so many things from the first movie.
On the other hand, even with the second Hunger Games movie still to come out, the next film has already begun production.
The third movie of the Hunger Games franchise has the working title Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
