Background

One of Hollywood’s most beloved stars is expecting her second child. ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star Drew Barrymore, who is 38 years old, and her husband Will Kopelman are already parents to thirteen month old baby Olive. There is currently no information about how far along Barrymore is or the gender of the baby.

Barrymore comes from a family of entertainers and she has been acting since childhood. Her breakout role was in ‘E.T.’ as Gertie, the younger sister of Elliot. She went on to star in other hit movies like ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Irreconcilable Differences.’ She was considered on the most popular and talented child actresses in the 1980s. When she entered her teen years, Barrymore became troubled. She got involved with a bad crowd and started experimenting with alcohol and drugs. She was quite a controversial figure for a while in the mid 1990s, but she entered rehab and eventually got clean and sober and has remained that way for many years.

Romantic Life

While Drew Barrymore was almost always successful in her film roles, her love life was a disaster until she met and married Will Kopelman. She was married for the first time at only 19 years old. That marriage only lasted a few months. One of her most public relationships was with talk show host and comedian Tom Green. Barrymore was by Green’s side while he went for surgery to treat his testicular cancer. Their relationship lasted a few years, but they eventually divorced after two years of marriage.

Barrymore then started dating drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They had a very public but often rocky relationship that lasted roughly eight years with some break ups in between.

Barrymore eventually met her current husband and father of her children Will Kopelman in 2011. They married in 2012 and are now expecting their second child.

Pregnancy

Barrymore had said in an interview after the birth of her first child that she wanted to have a second child right away. This second pregnancy comes just over a year since the birth of her first born daughter. Barrymore herself is an only child and has expressed that she would like to have a larger family with more than one child. Barrymore has spoken about the joys of motherhood with her first child and insists that she doesn’t want her children to suffer from a broken home the way she did when she was growing up. She does not want to repeat the mistakes of her parents and is determined to keep her marriage happy and healthy so that her children do not have to come from a broken home.

This second pregnancy is exactly what Barrymore wanted for her family. Hopefully all will go as planned and this pregnancy will be as easy for Barrymore as her first pregnancy with baby daughter Olive. Barrymore is 38, putting her in a risky age category for pregnancy, but she insists that she wanted to have children later in life.
