Reviewing All The Top Weekend Games
If the Golden State Warriors are going to advance to the NBA Western Conference finals, they will likely have to do it without Kevin Durant.
Durant (strained right calf) will miss the rest of the series with the Houston Rockets and be reevaluated next week.
That makes Friday night’s Game 6 against the Houston Rockets must-see TV. The game is in Houston and ESPN will be showing it at 9 p.m. ET. If the Rockets force a seventh game, ABC will carry it on Sunday from Oakland at 3:30 p.m. And that will really be must-see. The Warriors have won the last two NBA titles and three of four and Durant’s possible exit in the offseason adds to the storyline.
But wait. There’s more. Two series have gone to Game 7. The Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors meet at 7 p.m. on Sunday on TNT. The Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets will also play at a time not yet determined at the deadline.
Saturday night brings us the start of the NHL’s Western Conference playoffs. The St. Louis Blues meet the San Jose Sharks at 8 p.m. on NBC. Game 2 of the Carolina Hurricanes-Boston Bruins battle for the Eastern Conference berth in the Stanley Cup finals is Sunday at 3 p.m. on NBC. Boston holds a 1-0 in this best of seven.
If hockey’s collisions are not enough for you, plop your heiner in the recliner for NASCAR’s Digital Ally 400 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday night. Kyle Busch, with three victories so far, is the points leader in the Cup Series standings. FS1 will show the race.
Golf fans can catch the final round of the AT&T Byron Nelson from Dallas on Sunday at 3 p.m. on CBS. Eager to see the third round on Saturday? Same time and channel.
And don’t forget Mother’s Day.
