Vans Latest Collaboration

The fashion industry has reached out to work with some very famous and fabulous partners. On August 3rd, Vans, the skateboarding shoe and apparel company, opened an exhibit project with Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum. Profits will go toward preserving Van Gogh’s collections.

Vans explains the company and museum’s close work together “to select four main bodies of work that speaks to the creative ethos of Vans’ design as well as personal moments from the artist familial history.”

The displays show Van Gogh’s remarkable post-impressionist works and limited-edition Vans sneakers for sale. “Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers, and Van Gogh’s self-portrait are celebrated… showcasing some of Van Gogh’s most revered artwork in a new way.”

The fashion industry is definitely hugely connected with art, and for Levis, technology, too.

Levis has partnered with Google and put out a jacket that links with your phone with Bluetooth. That classic jean jacket has been completely revolutionized. You can play music and get directions by touching the button on your cuff with Levi’s and Google’s Jacquard.

Another amazing collaboration to mention is between Coach and Disney. Coach has embraced the true darkness of some of our brightest, sparkliest fairytales, like Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Their line of Disney apparel and accessories is fashionably wicked.
