Recapping All The Top Games You May Have Missed Over The Weekend

The Golden State Warriors opened the third quarter with a run of 18 straight points to erase yet another halftime deficit and held off the Toronto Raptors at the end for a 109-104 road victory in Game of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

The victory evened their series, which resumes on Wednesday in Oakland, at one game apiece. Still without Kevin Durant, the Warriors lost Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney to injuries. Their status will likely be updated on Monday.

Kawhi Leonard again excelled for the Raptors. He scored 34 points and made all 16 of his free throws.

NHL:
The St. Blues played a home game in the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday night for the first time in 49 years. The results were forgettable for the home side. The Boston Bruins defeated them 7-2 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. The Bruins scored four goals in a span of five shots. The series resumes Monday night in St. Louis.

Boxing:
Underdog Andy Ruiz Jr. scored a seventh-round TKO over Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night to take Joshua’s four heavyweight title belts. Ruiz knocked Joshua down twice in the third round and twice in the seventh, leading referee Mike Griffin to stop the bout.

Golf:
Patrick Cantlay’s 8-under 64 set a record for the final round of the Memorial Tournament and propelled him to a two-shot victory over Adam Scott on Sunday. Cantlay came from four shots down to earn his second PGA Tour win.

Elsewhere:
Kyle Busch led the final 21 laps at Pocono to win the Pocono 400 on Sunday. The victory was the 55th of his career, tying him for ninth on the career win list with NASCAR Hall of Fame member Rusty Wallace. In all, Busch led 79 of the 160 laps.

Top seed Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams both were eliminated from the French Open on Saturday. In Sunday’s round of 16 match, Stan Wawrinka outlasted Stefanos Tsitsipas in five sets, winning the last 8-6. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer also advanced.

Major League Baseball’s draft begins Monday night and runs through Wednesday. The Baltimore Orioles hold the first pick.

Max Scherzer struck out 15 over eight innings as the Washington Nationals beat the Reds 4-1 in Cincinnati.

The Seattle Mariners traded outfielder/first baseman Jay Bruce to the Philadelphia Phillies.
