Hotels volunteer to help, but not Trump Hotel
The hospitality industry is taking a big hit due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, especially hotels. Though hotels may be losing business, some are using their hotel to help shelter people displaced by COVID-19 in response to the request of Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio for vacant rooms to utilize as a shelter.
At least 20 hotels are participating in the effort of providing vacant rooms to house medical workers, sheltering homeless people, and some being used as makeshift hospitals in response to the overcrowding of medical centers. Hotels including the St. Regis and Plaza Hotel are giving back but President Trump’s hotel chain will not be participating.
Thank you to hotels around the country for providing healthcare workers and first responders a place to stay while they're on the front lines of the pandemic. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/DR4YSdRqaG

President Donald Trump’s chain of hotels remain to have their doors open for business but will not be offering their hotels to help people displaced due to COVID-19. Many may think that Trump may not know about this initiative but posted on the White House Twitter account thanking hotels for lending a hand during this crisis, though avoids addressing whether he will be helping to contribute with Trump hotels.
Though President Trump is addressing and asking everyone for their participation during this time but isn’t even offering a single one of his assets to help the situation. It seems Trump isn’t looking to spend a single dime of his own money as he can just use the money of the government and tax-payers.
