Taylor Swift Will Debut New Song
Taylor Swift will open the Billboard Music Awards with a performance of her brand-new song, “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco.
Taylor has been hyping the release of her new song on Twitter, posting pictures of butterflies and cryptic messages relating to the date April 26th. It turned out to be promo for Taylor’s new song and video, which was released at midnight on April 26th.
“ME! Out now! Made this song with @brendonurie and @iamjoellittle. Dave Meyers and I co-directed the video. And everyone knows you can’t spell awesome without DAVIDBRENDONJOEL. Oh, wait…”
“You’re the only one of you/ Baby, that’s the fun of you/ And I promise that nobody’s gonna love you like me,” Taylor croons in the new single.
Fans Tweeted thank-yous and messages of support to Taylor, calling the song empowering.
“@taylorswift13 I just wanna say real quick thank you!! this song is exactly what I needed and honestly makes me feel so happy and comfortable and to want to embrace every part of me, thank u!!” one excited fan wrote.
Thanks to the song’s release, Taylor herself is back on the Billboard charts. The Billboard Music Awards will be held on May 1st at 8 PM, live from Las Vegas. This year’s awards show will be hosted by Taylor’s fellow superstar, Kelly Clarkson.
