Saving Money
Saving money for your retirement is important, but so is enjoying the money you work so hard to make. Here are tips to help you enjoy life without hurting your retirement fund.
Tip 1
Find a healthy balance between spending and saving. Cooking meals at home instead of eating out at restaurants is one way to save money. Also, shopping at thrift stores or on Craigslist instead of charging purchases on credit cards at high-end retailers is another way to save.
Tip 2
In addition to putting money into your 401(k) plan, save for other specific goals as well. Some of these goals might include an emergency fund, buying a house or going on an affordable vacation. Tip 3: Have a splurge fund. Saving money should not make you miserable, so setting aside some money for frivolous spending will help you from feeling this way. If you want to buy a fun toy for your pet or some new makeup, you will not be left feeling guilty.
