President Biden is having a busy first full day in office signing 10 executive orders to address the leading problems including the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic following the signing of 15 executive orders on Wednesday. Along with having a day full of signing executive orders, Biden also announced he will be committing to returning the US to the Paris Climate Agreement.

A majority of the executive orders will contribute to the fight against COVID-19 to direct funds to reopen schools, requiring people to wear masks on public transportation spaces, establishing a COVID-19 testing board, and more.

President Biden will work to establish a COVID-19 testing board to direct resources for minority communities impacted by the pandemic, increase testing resources, establish protocols for international travelers, and address medical supply shortages. POTUS will also invoke the Defense Production Act among a range of directives and orders to boost the supply of vaccination and testing supplies.

Biden announced the massive initiative to combat the COVID-19 pandemic called the National Strategy for the COVID-19 Response and Pandemic Preparedness that will provide federal aid for supplies. This plan will be drastically different compared to Donald Trump’s plan to leave state resources responsible for purchasing medical supplies for healthcare workers and administering vaccines.

President Biden will also be following his promise on fighting climate change by pledging to rejoin the international Paris climate accord after former President Trump withdrew the US from the accord. The Biden administration will be working with federal agencies to review 100 climate-related policies.

This might be the beginning of a new administration but President Biden is already putting in the hard work needed to truly make America great again.
