Enjoy the little things and the big day!

Planning a wedding can sometimes conjure up more feelings of frustration, anxiety, and confusion than they do love, ease, and pleasure. Even the most scrapbook making, party planning, color coordinating, venti-drinking master organizer types can have a breakdown or several when working with all the moving parts of such a seriously special day without the help of a wedding planner or all-inclusive wedding venue.

Whenever anything in life is particularly overwhelming and stressful, being aware of some pretty direct, basic but specific guidelines for a specific goal is always a good remedy.

First of all, if you are planning your wedding you should have a nearly set number for your budget. You don’t want decisions to be more complicated than necessary and understanding how much you can spend on what is a huge help.

With your partner, you will want to come to an agreement about your visions and priorities for the wedding. What are the most important things to you both? Knowing if you can be more flexible with things like the date or formality or music or dining situations, etc., will structure your process.

Put together a big list of your guests and be prepared to narrow it down as you nail some other details down.

One day and one thing off the checklist at a time and your wedding will be just like you dreamed.
