Tina Fey Under Scrutiny After Surgeon She Parodied Commits Suicide
Tina Fey has recently been under fire in the news after a doctor she parodied on her Netflix show, “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, committed suicide.

The doctor, Fredric Brandt, was parodied by Martin Short on the show as a plastic surgeon who had had so much work done to his face that he was misinterpreted often and unable to talk clearly. While it was never stated in the show that Short’s character was portraying Brandt, the similarities are undeniable.

Like all comedy, the bit was meant with no cruel intentions but after the death of Fredric Brandt, many have jumped to claim that Tina Fey was bullying Brandt and the way he looks. A source close to Brandt, who was a plastic surgeon to the stars, has come forth and said while the portrayal certainly hurt Brandt’s feelings – it was in no way the reason why he committed suicide.
Brandt was loved by many celebrities who took to Twitter to mourn the loss of their friend. No official statement has been made by Tina Fey, but a source close to her says that she too is incredibly sad for this loss.
