Nobody Predicted What Would Happen After The Engagement

On “The Bachelorette” finale Tuesday night, Hannah Brown dumped Tyler Cameron in favor of longtime front-runner Jed Wyatt, who proposed to Hannah at the end of the show. But it was hardly the end of the road for Hannah and Jed: after rumors surfaced that Jed had promised an old girlfriend he would return home to her after the show, Hannah ended the engagement.

Earlier in the season, Jed confessed to Hannah that he initially went on the show because he believed it would boost his music career. But he insisted he was falling for Hannah in the meantime. But then, People Magazine dropped a bombshell: Jed had never broken up with his previous girlfriend, Haley Stevens, before leaving for “The Bachelorette.”

“Wyatt previously opened up to Brown on their one-one-one date about his initial intentions when applying to be on The Bachelorette,” ScreenRant.com reported. “The 25-year-old singer/songwriter told Brown that he was open to the idea of The Bachelorette because he is a hopeless romantic, but admitted that the main reason for joining the show was also due to it being a huge platform for his music career. He came clean to Brown because he wanted to be completely truthful to her, while also hiding the fact that he was in a serious 4-month long relationship before he left to be on the show.”

On the “After the Final Rose” segment of the finale, Hannah confirmed the relationship with Jed was over. However, she asked runner-up Tyler Cameron for a second chance, and he accepted.
