Tatum was slapped with his first career ejection after two technical fouls.

Monday night was a rough one for the Boston Celtics, who lost their latest game to the New York Knicks 109-94. However, it was especially tumultuous for the Celtics’ small forward Jayson Tatum who, after two counts of technical fouls, was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter, the very first ejection in his career.

When asked after the game what caused the ejection, Tatum told reporters “I don’t know,” but added with a smile that all the great players get thrown out a few times in their career, so, it’s good for my rep.”

When asked what he’s planning to do now, Tatum simply replied “Get back home.”

“I haven’t been home in two weeks. I miss my bed. See Deuce. Just get back home, get some home-cooked meals and get ready for Wednesday.”

The team was generally unhappy with how the game went. “I thought we missed a lot of good looks,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said. “They do a good job of putting pressure on the paint, and free throws, and so if you can’t make open shots you constantly have to guard [them attacking the] paint, and they put a lot of pressure on our defense.

“I just didn’t think it was our night.”
