It’s officially football season

The return of NFL football was celebrated at home with a majority of stadiums denying a live audience in-response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and adhering to social distancing health guidelines. The opening weekend for the NFL with 16 games including the Tampa Bay debut of its newest all-star players, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the New Orleans Saints with the Saints winning 34 to 23. After Tampa Bay traded its quarterback Jameis Winston for six-time Superbowl winner Tom Brady they were met in return with a couple of turnovers that cost them the first game of the season. Though they might have lost the game, Tom Brady has made history as the oldest active player in the NFL at the age of 43.

Brady’s former team, the New England Patriots celebrated the first game of the season winning 21 to 11 against the Miami Dolphins. Cam Newton scored two touchdowns with 15 carriers for 75 yards and his running stats could secure future wins for the Patriots.
