GMC reinvents the Hummer into an electric SUV

GMC is changing how the world sees Hummer as one of the biggest gas-guzzling cars and will pave the way for the future of offering a new and electrically improved Hummer EV. The upgraded Hummer electric vehicle offering one of the biggest electric SUVs on the market and GMC is taking reservation orders now.

Despite availability for the vehicle starting in 2023, customers are already getting in line to get behind the wheel of the Hummer EV. GMC has reserved every Hummer EV Edition 1 model costing $105,595 with customers expected to receive the first models in early 2023.

Shortly after the release of the Hummer EV Edition 1, Spring 2023 will mark the debut of the Hummer EV2X and EV3X. Hummer will offer two options for power with two motors for the EV2X and three motors for the EVX3.

The Hummer EV2X will cost $89,995 featuring two motors, an estimated range of over 300 miles, up to 625 horsepower, and 7,400 lb-ft of torque. The EV2X has four-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, adaptive ride control, and an 800-Volt DC Fast Charge Capable of up to 300kW. The new Hummer models will also feature special off-roading abilities including CrabWalk, Extract Mode, and optional Extreme Off-Road Package.

The Hummer EV3X features three motors for up to 830 horsepower, up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque, and an estimated range of 300 miles. The EV3X is priced at $99,995 with all the features of the EV2X with more to offer including going from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

The EV3X offers additional features including 22″ premium wheels with 35″ OD all-terrain tires, torque vectoring, and a new Watts to Freedom mode. GMC describes the Watts to Freedom mode as a driver-selectable immersive experience unleashing the full acceleration capability accelerating to 60 mph in three seconds.

The standard model of rebranded SUV is the Hummer EV2 that will be available at car dealerships starting Spring 2024 with prices estimated at $79,995 featuring two motors. The standard Hummer EV2 will have an estimated range of over 250 miles with up to 625 horsepower and up to 7,400 lb-ft of torque with new features from GMC.

The new Hummer EV2 offers new features by GMC including Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance, high definition surround vision, a digital key, 400-volt DC Fast Charge Capable, and more. This new Hummer is a glimpse into the future of SUV electric vehicles and GMC is promising more electric vehicles to come.
