Gaming News With Halo

If you’re into the Halo wars series, then here’s some good news. During the Free Play Days event, Xbox One users will be able to download and play the RTS, Halo Wars 2, between October 18-21.

Alongside with that, PC gamers can play Halo Wars: Definitive Edition on Steam during the same time frame. Starting next weekend, the games will be free. There is no confirmation on the price for people who want to buy the game, however. Both games are also available on Xbox Game Pass. So if you’re interested in a real-time strategy shooter, why not try it out.

Halo Wars first got introduced in 2009, on the Xbox 360. The story-line consists of human UNSC forces fighting the alien Covenant army several years before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. In 2016, the game was remastered as the enhanced Definitive Edition for Xbox One and PC, which will be free on Steam. Halo Wars 2, the sequel, was released in 2017, which takes place after the events of its predecessor. The game-play is very similar to the first one as well.

The Halo Wars series is primarily marketed towards Halo fans that enjoy real-time strategy games. Next weekend, many will see if the games a good fit for them.
