Easter Bunny Brawl

A bar-hopping Easter bunny isn’t a sight you see every day. But a nearly six-foot-tall bunny hopped to the rescue of a woman outside a bar in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, after bystanders say a man spit on her and the two began fighting.

Witnesses say the Easter bunny jumped into the fray after the man punched the woman in the face.

“I was at a loss for words,” Josh Manes, a bar manager in Orlando who witnessed the fight, told reporters. “I guess that’s how Sundays, fun days go around here in Orlando. I can’t be too surprised.”

The fight ended when Orlando police arrived and broke it up. At first, police thought the fight was staged for the amusement of bystanders. The Easter bunny continued to hop around, throwing pretend punches in the air. That’s when the police noticed the woman had been hit.

No arrests were made, but the incident was caught on camera and uploaded to Instagram (it was later removed for allegedly violating community standards.) According to reports, the hero behind the bunny costume is a man named Antoine McDonald.

Police initially threatened to arrest McDonald, but backed off when they realized he was a good Samaritan who had come to a stranger’s rescue.
