Demi reveals addiction to former husband during “Red Table Talk”

In an interview on Jada Pinkett Smith’s show, “Red Table Talk,” Demi Moore revealed she was “addicted” to Ashton Kutcher during their marriage. Moore said her relationship with Kutcher took a toll on her relationship with her three daughters by Bruce Willis, and eventually led her to start drinking again after 20 years of sobriety.

“The addiction and the co-dependency…like my addiction to Ashton–that was probably almost more devastating because it took me seriously away emotionally,” Moore said.

Two of Moore’s daughters, Rumer and Tallulah Willis, joined her during the interview. Moore also revealed that she became pregnant by Kutcher and miscarried the child at almost six months, which contributed to her downward spiral. Tallulah Willis said she was “hurt” by her mother’s behavior at the time.

“Watching the behavior with Ashton, those years, because everyone had left the house and it was just me living there. I felt very forgotten and I feel like I developed and nurtured a narrative where she didn’t love me and I truly believed it,” Tallulah said. “I know that she does, 100 percent, but in that moment you’re hurt.”

Moore and Kutcher were married from 2005 to 2013. Moore says she learned a lot from her relationship with Kutcher, and she has since learned not to “give power away.”

“I wanted to be something other than who I am. And I gave my power away,” Moore said.
