CES 2021 brings a lot of tech innovations for COVID-19 protection
The Consumer Electronics Show focuses on the best technological innovations of the new year but a majority of companies revealed new products to help combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic. CES 2021 featured an array of technological innovations with new products with tech upgrades for products including sanitizers, face masks, and social distancing tools.
The future of face masks lies in ‘smart’ masks that are an upgraded version of the traditional face mask improved with some technological features to better protect wearers. The AirPop Active+ Halo helps protect wearers while monitoring the quality of air and breathing with a smart sensor indicating when to change the filter based on usage frequency.
Another company is offering an upgraded version of the face mask called Maskfone that features Bluetooth earbuds and a microphone connected through the mask. This mask design helps wearers stay protecting while tackling the problem of juggling multiple accessories at once.

The ‘Project Hazel’ mask features voice amplification and air filters.
Another popular product feature at CES 2021 is sanitizers and purifiers to help sanitize personal space that will help with cleaning. Unipin unveiled the UVC disinfection robot built to help disinfect the air and surfaces of commercial or industrial spaces with the starting price of $7,500.
LG revealed the PuriCare Mini Air Purifier that is built for portability at only 8 inches in size with a convenient strap that can be worn on the wrist with prices starting at $199. This device is an air purifier that filters allergens from the air but not pathogens such as COVID-19 but the EPA recognizes an air purifier can help reduce airborne contaminants such as viruses found in the home.

Another popular tracking product is the BioButton Covid-19 Screening Solution created by BiollntelliSense that helps to monitor health stats for COVID-19 through a simple sticker device. The quarter-sized sticker monitors the wearer’s respiratory rate, temperature, and heart rate continuously that notifies the user of any irregularities of possible COVID-19 symptoms.
