A Sad Story, Bring Happiness To Another Couple
When a relationship ends it is never a nice feeling and you try and do everything to get over it, but if you’re engaged and to be married very soon then you will be forgiven for feeling that extra little bit cynical. However, this wasn’t the case for one ex-bride-to-be, who turned her devastation into an amazing gift for another couple.
Just one week before the date of her big day, Kolbie Sanders called off her engagement and then decided to offer the use of the $3,500 venue to a couple that she had never met.
The Texan 24-year old took to Twitter 24 hours before the event and offered the venue, hundreds and thousands of couple responded desperately trying to win the Belle Vue venue. She somehow managed to narrow the list down to 45 before she eventually picked Halie Hipser.
Halie’s story really stood out from the crowd as her father was suffering from pancreatic cancer and only had weeks to live. Halie was emotional when thinking about the opportunity to get married in front of her father, as well as their seven month old baby. She said: “As he is nearing the closing of his chapter, this donation will put us a year ahead of schedule and he will be able to attend.”
The estranged couple specifically decided to open up the option of the venue to couples who couldn’t afford a big and fancy wedding, soon enough the generosity spread. A local photographer, caterer, florist, hair stylist and makeup artist all offered their services to the chosen couple, to make their day just that little bit more special.
The wedding is set for 20th October and Kolbie will be a guest of honor for the big day.
