The Bad Boys Are Coming Back

Martin Lawrence has confirmed via Instagram that he will be taking part in the third installment of the Bad Boys franchise with Will Smith.

Taking to social media, he shared a picture of him and Will with the caption: “It’s official. Bad Boys for life.”

The third film has been in the works for a while now, with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah already signed up to the project. Martin and Will be reprising their roles of Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey respectively, almost 23 years after the first.

The sequel was released in 2003 was as popular as the first installment and fans demanded a third film, looks like they have finally got their way.

Last year, Martin seemed to destroy any dreams of a future film, saying that he didn’t think it would happen. He told Entertainment Weekly: “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turned out. Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

However, two years before this, Smith expressed his desire in doing another film, he said: “It is very, very, very close. It is very close.” Looks like it was much closer than any of us thought.

Plot details are firmly under wraps, but it has been reported that the movie will see Marcus (Martin) working as a private eye following a falling out with Mike (Will). Mike will be partnered with a new young partner while also going through a kind of mid-life crisis.

Mike and Marcus will end up being brought back together once again to bring down a ‘skilled Albanian mercenary with a vendetta’.

The new movie will be called ‘Bad Boys for Life’ and is widely expected to be released in 2020.
