Comedy actors take on a classic Christmas tale

“A Christmas Carol,” Charles Dickens’ classic holiday story, is known to many as a serious, even grim, tale about Christmas. But a new musical adaptation starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds is taking the holiday classic in a new direction.

Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds are celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with a musical remake of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. While the exact nature of their roles have yet to be revealed, sources confirm that John Morris and Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home, We’re the Millers) will be writing and directing the famous novella’s reimagining,” HypeBeast reported.

For now, the movie’s directors are keeping the actors’ exact roles a secret, although many are speculating that Ferrell will play Scrooge, the main character.

“A Christmas Carol” was first published as a novella in 1843. It follows the transformation of Ebeneezer Scrooge, an ungenerous man who hates Christmas, as he is visited by ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Through his interactions with the ghosts, Scrooge learns to change his ways and embraces the true meaning of Christmas.

The story has been adapted into plays, musicals, and movies many times. However, this newest adaptation, which features two comedy kings, is bound to deliver laughs in ways that past versions haven’t.
