Pumped Up For A Weekend Packed With Sports

The four World Golf Championships events are like a second tier of majors. They’re prestigious and the prize money is big.

The last of this season’s, the WGC-FedEx St. Jude, is underway in Memphis with plenty of big-name stars – Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Bubba Watson, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson – taking part. The purse: $10.25 million.

You can catch Saturday’s third round and Sunday’s finale on CBS at 2 p.m. ET.

NASCAR’s Monster Energy competition moves to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., for the Gander RV 400. NBCSN shows this Sunday at 3 p.m. Joey Logano leads the Cup Series in points (783), just ahead of Kyle Busch (780).

What better way is there to spend five hours on a Saturday than watching a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game? Yes, The 100 Years War of baseball will be shown by FS1 at 4:05 p.m. Plunk your heiner in the recliner and settle in to see, oh, 10 pitchers work their magic. Or you can catch Sunday’s version of the matchup on ESPN at 7 p.m.

Another Saturday game worth a look is the Houston Astros-St. Louis Cardinals on FS1, theoretically at 7:15 p.m. but following the interminable Yankees-Red Sox game. Be ready with your remote – this game might move around.

Yes, we know. The hunger for football is growing. Soon. Patience.
