A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead

The Copa America Centenario begins on Friday night and the beleaguered United States Men’s Team doesn’t have an easy path out of Group A. Its first game, against Colombia, ranked No. 3, in the world, will clearly put coach Jurgen Klinsmann on the spot. He has set a berth in the final four of this soccer event as a goal; his team is currently No. 31 in the world. You may enjoy this match at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1. Or you may not enjoy it.

The NHL Stanley Cup playoffs continue on Saturday night from San Jose, where the Sharks, down 2-1 in this best-of-seven series, host the Pittsburgh Penguins. NBC Sports Network has the call at 8 p.m.

The NBA Finals are at 8 p.m. on Sunday on ABC. The Golden State Warriors hold a 1-0 lead in this best-of-seven series that rematches last year’s finalists.

Continued downpours in Paris make the finals of the French Open a bit problematic on the schedule, but the women are supposed to take the court at Roland Garros on Saturday morning, with NBC televising at 9 a.m. The men’s final is set for Sunday (same channel) at 9 a.m. You are on your own for the wakeup call.

2013 French Open - Day Fourteen

Into something a little more esoteric? Tune in on Saturday at 2 p.m. on NBC for gymnastics and the P&G Championships.

There’s also plenty of college baseball, college softball and MLB scattered across the cable universe. Enjoy your visual buffet and the six-pack. Watch responsibly.
