A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead

We get our Weekend TV Six-Pack off to a fast start with Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night.

This could be the clincher for the Golden State Warriors, who lead the Cleveland Cavaliers 3-0 in the best-of-seven series. No team has ever come from 3-0 to win the NBA title. Game 4 from Cleveland can be seen on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.

In some years, we hope for a Triple Crown winner in horse racing. Now we have almost the exact opposite scenario. Neither Always Dreaming, who won the Kentucky Derby, nor Cloud Computing, the surprise victor in the Preakness Stakes, will take on the 1 ½-mile challenge of the Belmont Stakes. Irish War Cry is your favorite. The only horse that will have run in all three races is Lookin At Lee. Post time is 6:37 p.m., but NBC will begin coverage at 5 p.m.

Sunday will be a fun day to keep your heiner and your recliner permanently joined. You can start your engine with the Canadian Grand Prix at 2 p.m. on NBC and, if Formula One racing is not your thing, hop over to Fox Sports 1 at 3 p.m. for the guys who go round and round at the Monster Energy Cup Series race from Long Pond, Pa.

Sunday night brings what could be the decisive game in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Pittsburgh Penguins, with a 3-2 series lead, will try to win their second consecutive title at 8 p.m. in Nashville against the Predators. NBC carries this.

We’ve also got title matches in the French Open. Women on Saturday at 9 a.m. on NBC, the menfolk on Sunday, same time and TV coordinates.

Variety of the spice of life. Enjoy.
