College football is back this weekend!
College football gets a full weekend to shine before the NFL barges in, and college football isn’t fooling around. There’s a ton of great action and it begins on Friday night.
Big Ten fans can enjoy No. 18 Michigan State’s debut against Tulsa on FS1 at 7 p.m. ET. The Spartans were disappointing offensively last year but have nine starters back on that side of the ball.
Saturday’s gem is No. 11 Oregon vs. No. 16 Auburn at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn is one of several reportedly on the hot seat if his Tigers do not meet or exceed expectations after an 8-5 season and a fifth-place finish in the SEC West.
No. 4 Oklahoma, quarterbacked by former Alabama starter Jalen Hurts, gets a primetime spot on Sunday when the Sooners host Houston. ABC shows this one at 7:30 p.m.
There aren’t many pennant races in Major League Baseball, but the wild-card races provide a diversion. You can catch the New York Mets at the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night at 7:05 p.m. on ESPN.
NASCAR’s stop is Darlington, South Carolina, for the Bojangles’ Southern 500. NBCSN does the honors on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The round of 16 at the U.S. Open tennis championship begins Sunday. ESPN’s on-going coverage of this event continues at 11 a.m.
Quite a varied menu here. Something for every taste. Enjoy. And if you are in the path of Hurricane Dorian, make preparations and please be safe.
