Sports Review For All The Top Weekend Games

The first of tennis’ majors comes to a conclusion this weekend, and you are permitted to watch in bed.

The Australian Open women’s final, matching No. 4 seed Naomi Osaka and No. 8 seed Petra Kvitova, takes place at 3:30 a.m. ET on Saturday. ESPN will televise. The men’s final, featuring No. 2 Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic takes place Sunday, same time and TV coordinates.

The NFL gets a closeup look at some of the top draft prospects on Saturday at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The week of practice often tells scouts more than the game action, but it’s fun to see some of the quarterbacks (Missouri’s Drew Lock, West Virginia’s Will Grier) air it out. NFL Network shows this affair at 3:30 p.m.

With a bit more than a week to go before the Super Bowl, the NFL serves up the Pro Bowl, matching the best of the AFC and the NFC (or at least those who showed up and didn’t use an injury as an excuse). ABC and ESPN televise this event from Orlando, Florida at 3 p.m.

Tiger Woods made his 2019 debut in the Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday and was tied for 53rd after the first 18 holes. Will he make the cut? The final two rounds of this PGA Tour event are Saturday (3-6 p.m., CBS) and Sunday (1-3 p.m. on Golf Channel, 3-6 p.m. on CBS).

For college basketball, plop your heiner in the recliner on Saturday and enjoy No. 9 Kansas at No. 8 Kentucky at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
