Walmart is offering a personal shopping service to better compete with Amazon, hoping this feature will draw more loyal shoppers.

The new personal shopping system is called Jetblack that has started testing in New York. The program works through a texting service, the customer texts a personal shopper with their items and then it will be delivered to their building (with doormen).

The service also offers gift wrapping and hand-written cards, also providing recommendations based of purchases. There is also a pick-up service if returns are needed. This new service will also help to increase users for the app while creating a more efficient shopping experience, including digital receipts that keep record of previous transactions.

Through the app they also include a live map of the store, so customers can better find items through their large inventory. There are currently 165 stores that offer the map feature, that is frequently updated and custom for each store.

The new service hopes to help people who are too busy to shop, while offering a wide-range of products. The service starts at $50 a month, already boasting a wait list and is invite only for frequent customers.
