Verizon Joins No Contract Crew

It’s official; Verizon Wireless has joined the no contract crew and dumps cell subsidies. The new plan kind of keep the spirit of the contract alive. Starting soon the company will start to offer rate plans such as small $30/1GB, medium $40/3GB, large $60 GB, and x-large $80/12GB will now be your options for sharable data.

But, it doesn’t end there because on top of that each line will come with a $20 flat fee plus phone payment plan. However, if you cant afford to buy the phone out right the payments will be spread across the span of two years worth of bills. So basically the two-year contract, as we know it is dead like many other cell phone companies. And, since you are no longer on a contract you will be able to switch carriers freely as long as you pay off your remaining balance.

Verizon may be getting pricy but they came out with a recent statement saying, “We’re not going to be a price leader, never said we would.” This basically means that the carriers network is still the main selling point and the new flexibility is just a bonus for customers.
