Trump retaliates after being mocked by Debra Messing

Days after “Will & Grace” actress Debra Messing called for creating a “blacklist” of Donald Trump voters, Trump took to Twitter to slam the actress, calling her Debra “The Mess” Messing.

“Bad ‘actress’ Debra The Mess Messing is in hot water. She wants to create a ‘Blacklist’ of Trump supporters, & is being accused of McCarthyism. Is also being accused of being a Racist because of the terrible things she said about blacks and mental illness,” Trump tweeted. “If Roseanne Barr said what she did, even being on a much higher rated show, she would have been thrown off television. Will Fake News NBC allow a McCarthy style Racist to continue? ABC fired Roseanne. Watch the double standard!”

Messing was roundly criticized for encouraging the Hollywood Reporter to print the names of people who attended a Trump fundraiser in Beverly Hills, saying “People have the right to know.” One person who took Messing to task was Whoopi Goldberg of The View, who said Messing is setting a dangerous precedent by calling for “blacklists.”

“Listen, the last time people did this, people ended up killing themselves,” Goldberg said, referring to the 1950s panic over Communists in Hollywood. “This is not a good idea, OK?”

Messing is also in hot water for retweeting a sign posted outside an Alabama church that said, “A black vote for Trump is mental illness.” Messing later apologized for the tweet.
