Trump visits Florida amid Impeachment Hearings

After impeachment hearings in the House of Representatives wrapped last week, President Donald Trump took the stage at a rally in Florida, blasting “fake news” and activists who want to change the name of Thanksgiving. He gleefully cited polls showing that the impeachment inquiry is backfiring for Democrats.

“They’re pushing that impeachment witch hunt, and a lot of bad things are happening to them,” Trump said at the rally. “Because you see what’s happening with the polls? Everybody said, ‘That’s really bull—t.'”

The crowd began to chant “Bull—t!”

Trump called the impeachment inquiry a “terrible hoax.” He also said he would not cave into Native American activists and other groups that allegedly want to change the name of Thanksgiving.

“As we gather together for Thanksgiving, you know, some people want to change the name Thanksgiving,” Trump said. “They don’t want to use the term Thanksgiving. And that was true also with Christmas. But now everybody’s using Christmas again. Remember this?… But everybody in this room, I know, loves the name Thanksgiving. And we’re not changing.”

Trump also touted his accomplishments during his first term, citing the strong economy and job growth.

“The economy is booming. Wages are rising. Crime is falling. Poverty is plummeting. Confidence is soaring. And America is stronger than ever before,” Trump said to the cheering crowd.
