Trump Brags Over Daughter’s Claimed Acheivement

President Donald Trump raised eyebrows again this week when he claimed his oldest daughter, Ivanka, has “created millions of jobs.”

“She went into the whole helping-people-with-jobs, and I wasn’t sure that was going to be the best use of her time, but I didn’t know how successful she’d be,” Trump said. “She’s created millions of jobs, and I had no idea she’d be that successful.”

Trump made a similar claim in February, telling reporters aboard Air Force One, “Where is Ivanka? Ivanka, keep going. My daughter has created millions of jobs. I don’t know if anyone knows that, but she’s created millions of jobs. Last year, my administration created the Council for the American Worker and launched the Pledge of America’s Workers, where we’ve gained commitments from private sector leaders to hire and train more than 6.5 million Americans. Think of it: 6.5 million. And these are jobs that, for the most part, would not have happened.”

Trump also said his daughter is a “natural diplomat” and he has considered appointing her to represent the United States at the UN. But, he said, “they’d say nepotism.” Trump also said Ivanka would make a great leader of the World Bank because “she’s good with numbers.”

Ivanka Trump has placed a special emphasis on making the workforce more woman-friendly, especially for young working mothers. However, the President’s claim that she has created “millions” of jobs is unsubstantiated.
