The Trailer For The Hobbs And Shaw Movie Has Just Dropped

A spin-off from the massively successful Fast and Furious franchise, “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw” will be released on August 2, 2019. The film follows two of the most popular characters, Luke Hobbs – played by Dwayne Johnson – and Deckard Shaw – played by Jason Statham.

The former enemies have now joined forces to take on international terrorist, Brixton – played by Idris Elba – who has been described in promos for the movie as a ‘superhuman’ badass.

And if the trailer is anything to go by they weren’t lying. Hell-bent on bringing destruction to the world, the only two people they can trust to track down the crazed Brixton are the musclebound lawmen who don’t seem best pleased about having to work together to save the world.

And by the looks of it, they’ve got their work cut out for them with Brixton’s super strength proving a match for the pair. Will they do it?

I don’t know, but with plenty of fights, car chases, and explosions to keep audiences on the edge of their seat, we can’t wait to find out. According to Johnson, it’s been almost six years in the making and said it was only worked because of his ‘biting chemistry’ with his co-star, Statham.

Speaking in December, Johnson said: “We started talking about the potential of a spin-off really after “Fast Five”.

“I’m really happy that we were not only able to crack the creative and really lean into the relationship and chemistry – the biting chemistry between myself and Jason Statham – but I think that also you find out that it’s something the fans have been wanting for some time now.”

And he won’t be the only WWE star in the film, his musclebound cousin and wrestler, Roman Reigns, will also make his feature film debut in the movie. Johnson announced the news last month when he shared a photo from the set, with the pair posing bare-chested with their mouths agape.

He captioned the photo: “The brothers’ roar.”

The next 12 months promise to be exciting for fans of the franchise, with the ninth instalment of the original series set to be released in 2020.
